Famous around the world for its quality and its great diversity, Turkish cuisine is one of the most appreciated by chefs and gourmets. Food has always been a very important part of Turkish culture and history. Influences and interactions among country kitchens all around Turkey, such as Armenia, Iran, Greece, Lebanon, Georgia, and even China are very common. Turkish cooking uses many vegetables, meat (mainly lamb and beef), cereals, and yogurt used for sauces.
